Happy Lent!
This is Day 1 of the Say Yes to Holiness Rooting Out Hidden Faults: How the Particular Examen Conquers Sin Online Lenten Retreat.
Today’s resolution suggestion is for you to reflect upon the two questions proposed by Fr James at the end of his preface:
And should not our work and recreation and study be just as much a part of our spiritual life as our prayers and rule keeping?
Should not all things tend to the glory of God, our own perfection, and the salvation of others?
And then to examine your Lenten promises associated with prayer, fasting and almsgiving and determine if they will help you answer the questions in the affirmative by the end of Lent. If not, I invite you to adjust them as necessary.
I invite you to post your resolutions in the comments so we can hold one another accountable to growing in holiness, and also please feel free to post any comments/questions you may have, too.
